Sin is a big deal. It separates, traps, confuses, and lies to us, ultimately leading us to places we don’t want to be. But we have hope that Jesus is greater, and gives us a new identity to overcome sin.

The difficult things we face happen for a purpose. We learn how to persevere, we learn how to trust our faith instead of our feelings, and we grow our hope during seasons of suffering.

When we put our faith and belief in Christ, His righteous becomes our identity. Righteous puts us in right standing with God, not of our own merit or works, and allows us to live righteous, transformed, and blessed lives.

Everything of significance in God’s kingdom is accessed by faith. Faith is simply trust and belief in the Gospel, and faith is the central point of our lives as Christians.

We have no excuse to live a life less than what Jesus paid for us to have. Because of the Gospel, we as Christians can no longer make excuses of why we aren’t living the way God has called us to live.

As we read through Romans, each week of this series we will focus on a new “I am” statement. We can grow in knowledge of our identity as the Bible describes it, and be bold and confident in our God-given identity and the power of the Gospel.

This week we look at the promise God makes to us concerning legacy – God’s kingdom will come, and it will bring all good with it. But we don’t idly wait, we work to build the kingdom of God and see its promises made real around us today.

In this series we look into the many promises God has made. This week’s promise is that “all things will work together for good to those who love God.” Even if life feels bitter, hard, and difficult, we can know that our skills, time, and pain are not wasted as we wait for God to fulfill his promises.
