We’ve all got issues. In this new sermon series, we’re talking about the issues we have or face.
Controlling a situation or area of our lives seems like the best way to manage it or keep it in place. But more often than not, we find ourselves controlled by the very things we try to control. We must learn to discern when to hold on, and when to let go, trusting that God is always in control. Even when we give up control, we remain responsible for our obedience, attitude, and effort, trusting that God takes care of the rest – the opportunities, the other person, and the outcomes. Let the process of surrendering control to God start, or continue, today.
Reflection/Discussion Questions:
When was a moment you had absolutely no control over a situation?
What makes it hard to give up control? What do you feel like will, or won’t, happen without you?
What situations or areas of your life are you trying to control right now? If you’re unsure, ask yourself, what “things” are filling my thoughts?
What can I surrender to God today?
