Series: Colossians

Like the Colossian church, our modern lives are filled with distractions. The culture around us pushes for the next big, better thing, and we have real needs for ourselves and our families. But as Paul writes in Colossians, we must learn to think and live differently. Security, pleasure, and self are some of the biggest distractions we have in the world. They are important things, but when we prioritize them over Jesus we will be distracted and achieve far less than we hoped. Our satisfaction can not and will not be met by the things on earth here and now. We were created to enjoy God in eternity! It’s a daily practice and fight to replace our love for the things of this world with greater love for God. When our cravings and thoughts are on Christ, we find unexplainable peace, eternal purpose, and constant gratitude.
